The Challenge & Our Solution

Peepul Tree sought a sustainable product, a goal we embraced by focusing on responsible, local sourcing. We identified Kashmiri wicker from Ganderbal, a naturally grown, durable, and underutilized material, as our core. This decision allowed us to tap into local resources and unlock new design potential.

Empowering Artisans, Innovating Production

Central to this project were the local artisans. We ensured they received fair wages, reviving traditional weaving techniques while respecting their skill and time. To enhance productivity, we introduced laser-cut bases. This simple technological intervention reduced manual effort, sped up weaving, and allowed artisans to focus on the intricate details of their craft. It's a prime example of how thoughtful innovation can amplify traditional skills.
