Studio Kilab collaborated with Kani Home to revitalize their residency space, transforming it into a vibrant and inspiring hub for creatives. The design aimed to foster a sense of community, spark collaboration, and reflect the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.


Design Concept:

The interior design merges traditional Kashmiri aesthetics with a contemporary sensibility, creating spaces that are both functional and inspiring. Key elements include:

  • Collaborative Focus: Flexible layouts in common areas encourage interaction and facilitate workshops or gatherings.

  • Reimagined Heritage: Traditional motifs and patterns are reinterpreted in modern ways through custom furniture, textiles, and decorative accents.

  • Comfort & Creativity: Well-appointed private rooms provide a tranquil workspace, while common areas offer a mix of seating for socializing and focused work.

  • Sustainable Materials: Prioritizing natural materials, upcycled elements, and locally sourced furnishings in line with Kani Home's ethos.

  • Celebration of Craft: Showcasing the work of Kashmiri artisans through both integrated design elements and rotating art displays.
