Studio Kilab was tasked with transforming a traditional cottage in Pahalgam into a cozy and inviting retreat that seamlessly blends Kashmiri heritage with modern comforts. Our design approach aimed to highlight the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape while creating a warm and welcoming ambiance for guests.
Design Concept:
The interior design concept draws inspiration from the rich textures and patterns found in traditional Kashmiri crafts. Key elements include:
Warm, Natural Palette: Earthy tones, rich woods, and accents of vibrant color inspired by local flora.
Handcrafted Touches: Incorporating artisanal elements like handwoven rugs, papier-mâché accents, and traditional wood carving details.
Cozy Textures: Soft, layered textiles, plush throws, and comfortable furnishings.
Natural Light: Maximizing natural light and framing views of the stunning Pahalgam landscape.
Functionality & Comfort: Balancing aesthetics with practical considerations for a comfortable and relaxing guest experience.
